One of the most important things to your travels is how light you pack the bags.
The ability to move around fast and efficiently is key to make sure you make the most out of your trips. No lengthy packing and unpacking, quick access to anything you need.
In the next few minutes, I will share all the necessary, but (almost) nothing extra to bring with you on your ventures.
Travel with:
1) Hiking shoes
2) Underwear
3) Socks
4) Shorts
5) Long pants
6) Belt
7) Tshirt
Pack your main bag with:
1) T-shirts - 4-5 of those should be sufficient
2) Shorts - 3 pairs (try using shorts that could be swimwear too)
3) Swimwear - 2 pairs
4) Hoodie - 1
5) Trackpants - 1
6) Long-sleeved t-shirt - 1
7) Underwear - 5
8) Socks - 5 pairs
9) Light windproof/waterproof jacket - 1
10) Running shoes - 1 pair
11) Flip flops - 1 pair
12) Shirts (casual, short-sleeved) - 2
13) Short pants (casual going-outs) - 1 pair
14) Hat
15) Sunglasses - 1 pair
16) Perfume - get a small travel container to spray into
17) Deodorant
18) Shower gel (& shampoo)
19) Goggles - for swimming and diving in those tropical waters
20) Nail-clipper - an essential
21) Medicines pouch - have some bandaids, aspirin, pain relief medication, stomach relief, mosquito spray, and anything else you need or want, but dont get too much
22) Sewing kit - try those from hotels, they are tiny and do the job
23) Shaving kit - one razor with a small foamer are great, electric razor is a great addition
24) Washing kit - also bring one bag that you can put dirty laundry into and then wash it, soap works for washing, but you can use other facilities as well.
25) Bathing pouch - toothpaste and brush
26) Electronics - extra battery (solar powered is best), chargers
27) Tide pen - for those accidental stains
28) Laptop - to remain connected in those cosy ho(s)tels
29) Phone - its great to have one, just saying
30) Others - documents are a no brainer, a lighter, some napkins, a notebook maybe.
Extra - a small side backpack for your filming equipment. Maybe a GoPro would be okay in the main bag too, but always have that small daypack to put a few things inside and jump to the beach.
That's it.
You don't need more. Really. The rest is just extras, don't carry too much and you will appreciate it in the long run. What you don't have, buy on the spot, the world is developed nowadays, so unless you are deep in the bush, you will be fine.
Enjoy your lean adventures!
